Medical Disclaimer
Please read this before you use anything on this site.
Burn by Eat the Weight Off is a fitness and wellness community. It is not medical care, and nothing on this site — the workouts, the programs, the challenges, the blog, the community, or anything I write personally — is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
I am not a medical professional
I am not a doctor, a dietitian, a physical therapist, or a nurse. I lost 140 pounds and I built the community I wish I had when I started. That is experience, and I share it honestly. It is not clinical training, and it is not a substitute for the people who are actually treating you.
Talk to your doctor first
Before you start any exercise or nutrition program here, talk with your physician or qualified health provider. This matters especially if you:
- are taking a GLP-1 medication
- have had bariatric or any other surgery
- are pregnant or postpartum
- have heart, lung, joint, or blood pressure concerns
- are managing diabetes or any other ongoing condition
- have been inactive for a long time
Your doctor knows your restrictions, your medications, and your history. We do not.
Stop if something is wrong
Stop exercising and seek medical attention if you feel chest pain, dizziness, faintness, unusual shortness of breath, or pain that is sharp rather than tired. Nothing here is worth an injury, and no workout is more important than the body doing it.
Move at your own pace
Every workout here offers modifications, and you are the one who decides which to take. Doing the easier version is not cheating. Stopping early is not failing. You know your body better than a video does.
Results are not promised
My results are mine. Yours will depend on your body, your health, your medications, your consistency, and a hundred things neither of us controls. Anything shared on this site by me or by members is one person’s experience, not a promise of what will happen to you.
Community content
Members share their own experiences in the groups and feed. That is the point of the place, and it is not vetted medical information. Take what helps, leave what does not, and check anything that matters with your provider.
Emergencies
If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Do not wait, and do not post about it here first.
